THE CREATION OF THE JINN

• Allah says the Jinn were created from smokeless fire, and from scorching fire

• Shaytaan flows in our veins. We can’t see them, but they can see us. Thus, there is another dimension to which our laws of physics do not apply

• The Prophet choked a devil until his tongue came out and it was cold on his hand – their initial creation was from fire, but it doesn’t mean their final state is as such; just like us, we were initially created from clay but our final form is a number of things

•The Jinn world is similar to ours. There are pious jinn and unpious ones, believers and disbelievers. There are various sects, just like us- ahlus-sunnah and ahlud-dalaal. There are male and female jinn. They procreate, eat and drink.

• Metamorphosis exists in the jinn world. They can transform into various creatures

-“Snakes are the metamorphosization of the jinn”- hadith
-“The black dog is a shaytaan”- hadith
-Ibn Taymiyyah said they can be black cats

1. they can transform into human beings

-Shaytaan came to the Mushrikun in Badr, as a human, and promised them assistance. He fled when he saw Jibreel descend and said, “I fear Allah”
-Hadith of Abu Hurairah: a man tried for 3 nights to steal the zakaat money in Ramadan, and the Prophet said he was a jinn.
-They can take the form of regular human beings in order to cause corruption, strengthen the place of shirk in the human heart.
-In Fathul Baari, Umar was asked how can jinn morph and take a physical structure different from their own? He said they cannot do that without the help of the magicians amongst the jinn. So if you see one, make the adhaan, because they flee when they hear it.
